A number's prime factorisation is 2^{3} X 3^{2} X 5^{2}
Is the number even or odd? Explain your reasoning.
Name four other factors of this number, other than 2, 3 and 5.

The number is a even number. When you take 2 to the power of 3, it will become 2x2x2 and if you take 3 to the power of 2, it will become 3x3 and five will become 5x5 and when you add them all up, you will get 1800 which is a even number.

All prime numbers except 2 are odd numbers and when odd numbers multiply each other, they will still be an odd number, but when an even number is in the equation,it will be an even number as odd numbers multiplied by any even number will be an even number.

The number is even as all multiple of 2 can only be even ( like 4,6,8,10,12 ) therefore if it is an odd number( 3,5,6,11,13 ), it wont have 2 as a factor.

The answer is even 3 and 5 is odd numbers. odd numbers multiply by an odd number will give you another odd number but if an odd number multiply by an even number it will give you an even number hence the answer will be an even number

ReplyDeleteThe four other factors are 1, 4, 6 and 8.

The reason is that any product which is made up of

Deleteprime numbers will always be an even number.

The number is an even as it can be divided by two.

ReplyDeleteThe other factors are 1,4.6 and 8

Can be further elaborated

Deletelet a be the number.

Deleteif a = 2^3x 3^2x5^2

so a=2x2x2x3x3x5x5

it also can be a/2/2/2/3/3/5/5=1

it can be divided by 2 means it is an even number

The number is even as it has an even factor. The 4 other factors are 1,4,6,8

ReplyDeleteIt is an even number. As the multiples of 2 are even numbers.

ReplyDeleteand 2 was in the equation so the answer was an even number.

DeleteIf the bases are added up together, it is an even no. so the end product would be even

ReplyDeleteand 2 was in the equation so the answer was an even number.

ReplyDelete2x2x2 is equals 8 which is an even number

ReplyDeletebut, 3^2 is an odd num(9)

and 5^2 is also an odd num (25)

an oddplus odd is an even num

If you added the whole equation you will receive a even number.

ReplyDeleteWhen an odd x odd x even =EVEN .You will always get an even number
