"Estimation" & "Approximation" - What are they?

Construct a sentence to illustrate how the two words "approximation" and "estimation" are used in real life.

    Estimation-"The equation 3.1+5.2 is estimated to 3+5 and the answer is approximately 8"

      The example for estimation, the first part is clear :)
      However, note that 3.1 + 5.2 is not an equation, it's just an expression.

    (approximately)

    Estimation-An estimation is a rough guess of any number close to the original answer. For e.g.: When someone is scheduled to arrive at 5:40, they estimate to be at the location in about 10 min, FOR EXAMPLE.

      On the other hand, note that when we say "One thousand dollars", mathematically, we write as $1000

  13. Approximation can be used in real life for prices of products like when they round it off in your receipt an in your total amount of money spent. Estimation is quite similar to approximation, except that you do not know the actual amount and rely on your thoughts to estimate it.
