Data Handling: Choice of Graphs by Joel Tan

Can you identify the one that is not appropriate?
Answer: Yes, It is the line graph

Why do you think it's not appropriate?
Answer: A line graph is only for 2 variable, 1 at the y axis and 1 at the x axis. Many variables in the x axis can get people confused.

What makes you think the 3 remaining graphs are appropriate?
Answer: Other x axis can have 1 or more variable.

  1. Correct. It's the line graph.
It's not appropriate because the data captured in this case does not provide trends. Line graph is used to discuss changes of a quantity over time.
